Lumberton Alumni Chapter

The Lumberton Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated was chartered on August 24, 1984, as a result of the spearheading efforts of Vernon E. McHam, a Fall 1963 initiate of the Gamma Omicron Chapter at St. Augustine's College and William Young, a Spring 1970 initiate of the Epsilon Beta Chapter at Fayetteville State University. These two individuals, along with eight others, became the charter members of Lumberton Alumni. These members were Brothers Thomas Walker, Alexander Killens, William Clark, Clark Windley, Eilliot Lemon, H.A. "Pete" Cunningham, Reverend Harris G. Thompson, Dr. Arthur Robinson, Sr., William Young, and Vernon E. McHam. All charter members were subscribers in the Kappa Alpha Psi Life Membership Program.

Individual members of the chapter, from its inception to the present, have found themselves, by their own professions, engaged in almost all of the human endeavors that make life and living in Lumberton, Red Springs, Rowland, and Fairmont, the various locales of the Brothers. The tradition has been reaffirmed and is destined to continue.
